Cool: This is a random teenager’s library poetry activity they posted in my branch:

I don’t know what the program was called, but the kids did well; they chose single words or short phrases on pages from weeded library copies of mass market paperbacks* too crummy to circulate anymore, then redacted everything else on the page. Some of the kids covered the remaining text with dense scribbling & drawing, which was a nice variation.

*Like, say, Debbie Macomber books- stuff that’s read by a surprising amount of middle-aged white women. This is a detail I found greatly amusing because of all the irony already built in- perfect for teens.
